Little Munchkin Daycare is a place where children can grow and develop during the upbringing and healthy environment. We strive to develop programs tailored to the needs of the child; our programs/activities are specialized towards early learning education – infant-toddler program. We are looking for a full-time Early Childhood Educator.

Job Description:
Position: Early Childhood Educator
Vacancy: 1
Working Hours: 30 to 40 Hours per week
Wage: 20.00 per hour
Benefits: dental and health benefits after 6-month probation
6 CAD per hour wage enhancement provided by the British Columbia Child Development Department.
Job Offer Type: Full-time, Permanent

Main duties:
– Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest
– Encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
– Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
– Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor
– Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings
– Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
– Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
– Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
– Plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours

Job Requirement:
License: British Columbia Early Childhood Educator License Required
Education: College, CEGEP
Experience: Experience an asset
Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Immunization Records
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Combination of sitting, standing, walking
